    Don't think mine has one.
Is the solenoid having issues? Is it shorting and pulling too much current through the plug

      Sequence of events

Fooled around with too small / old battery that could not start it... in the heat of the moment we had wrong +/- , hence blew the mail fuse... with fresh fuses all around , the small blue 15 amp fuse keeps burning.. no starter relay funktion..
the diode has for sure been hot(meltet wires)

Diodes across solenoids in my line of work (locksmith) are usually fitted to stop back EMF from damaging expensive equipment, but a carb 2v has no electrics that would be affected by it. Don't lose any sleep on the matter.
