    Barber Museums Concours de Competition

I have not posted in a long time but thought I would post an experience I had in October.

For background, because I love restoring 851/888 Corses, I restore my friends' Corses for free as long as they pay for the parts I require.

Last year after the 851/888 Corse celebration I held at my house, my friend Erv Kollec left his 1993 Carl Fogarty #2 WSB for me to make correct.

When I finished it Erv was so happy with the results that he entered it in the Barber's Museum's inaugural "Concours de Competition". It was held in conjunction with the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association's last race of the season and the Barber Museum's Vintage MotoFestBike weekend where over 70,000 crazies show up.

There were two classes, "Show" and the "GO". Erv talked me into entering my 1989 Factory Works bike in the " Show" class and he entered his Foggy in the "Go" class which required a lap on the Barber's track. Barber is a great track if you ever get the chance to ride on it. The museum is spectacular

It was a great event and as luck would have it Erv's Foggy WSB took first in the "Go" class and my 1989 Factory Works bike took first in the "Show" class.

Here are a few photos of the 851/888 Corse celebration I held at my house in the fall of 2022 and photos of Erv and my win at the Barber Concours de Competition held in October 2023.

The three bikes in one photo are, Erv's '93 Foggy WSB, my '89 Factory Works bike (painted in the early '90 colors when Jamie James rode it in AMA), and Jason Gautney
'spectacular 1995 Carl Fogarty #1 WSB bike

Thank you Fuzzer-- Restoring and tracking 851/888 Corses have been my passion since my first 1999. I am hoping I can find passionate caretakers when I have to eventually pass mine on.
